Are you ages 18 – 30+?
Don't worry if your over 30, we won't
judge you. But at the moment we aren't open to under 18's. However,
we are associated with an awesome group called the Diabetes UK Young
Persons Project Group. Which is for young adults and their families
from 13-17 years. They have at least two events a year where people
that age can meet up and do fun activities whilst learning about
their diabetes.
Do you live in the Cardiff/ South Wales
Area?
At the moment the group is open to
anyone who lives in the Cardiff area. It's no problem if you live a
bit further afield in the surrounding area, but at the moment the
meetings are always located in Cardiff.
How often so we meet?
We meet every 6 weeks- so it's not too
big a commitment. You can come to some and not others as it suits you
best. But obviously you'll get a greater sense of support with the
more that you come to. All we ask is that you let us know on the
facebook group about whether you can make it.
Where do we meet?
We always meet in a public place so
that new member's can find it and feel at home. They are always easy to
get to, but we are always happy to provide you with instructions on how to get there.
How much does it cost?
We don't charge anything for joining
the support group at the moment and any activities we do are paid for by the
individual. For every event we do our best to keep the costs to a
minimum. There is an online shop available to view and but Blue Circle Diabetes merchandise in and the proceeds from which go back into the support group.
Who is responsible for me?
As we are all adults, we are each
responsible for ourselves. Any alcohol consumed is at your own risk
and it is also your responsibility to look after your diabetes and
bring your diabetes medication/ necessary items with you.
